| Greetings from Mayor McLaughlin Dear Friends, The month of May has nearly come and gone, and we can see the progress Spring has made. As nature blossoms around us, we continue to blossom in our work for a Better Richmond! From honoring May Day to celebrating Cinco de Mayo to the opening of our Richmond Greenway bike and pedestrian path ...and just last week with the showcasing of the new George Harris Track and Field facility at Kennedy High School, we see that May 2007 has clearly left its mark on Richmond! Hope is in the air . . . there is no better way to keep it afloat than to keep reaching out to one another. I intend to hold another "Meet with the Mayor" town hall meeting (likely in late July) to follow up on ideas from the last town hall meeting and to bring in more public participation as we journey forward, as a community, to better our City. Details of this meeting will be announced in my June newsletter, giving plenty of notice so you can save the date! Peace, Mayor McLaughlin |
