Gayle Campaigning for Mayor


September 20, 2006, Gayle speaks at a vigil in front of Doctor's Hospital, speaking in solidarity with SEIU UHW (United Health Workers) protesting the potential layoffs and closure of the hospital. UHW has endorsed Gayle for mayor.

August 19, 2006, Gayle campaigning in Richmond at the "Music on the Main." The event was sponsored by a community-based nonprofit Richmond Main Street Initiative, Inc., a group working to revitalizing historic downtown Richmond as a pedestrian-friendly urban village that reflect the community’s rich and diverse heritage

August,19. 2006, Gayle and Jim Jenkins, Richmond City Council candidate, take a break from passing out campaign leaflets at the "Music on the Main" event in Downtown Richmond. This neighborhood includes a commercial district that provides convenience and specialty retail and services to the Iron Triangle and surrounding areas.

August 19, 2006, Gayle and Ramona Braxton-Samuels (in red dress). Ramona, who was the enthusiastic executive director of the Richmond Main Street Initiative, has recently passed on. Richmond has lost a great community leader in Ramona and she will be remembered by many!
