Voted
in favor of:
A
resolution authorizing the Police Department to accept the State
Frontline grant and approve the spending plan.
The total amount of the grant is $149,322. Motion passed.
A
second reading of an ordinance regarding
the Slavery Era Disclosure Act and disclosure and divestment of
investment earnings from City-Sponsored Pension Funds or Investment Funds
from financial and insurance institutions that benefit from international
investment in slavery. Motion passed.
An
ordinance establishing wages, salaries, and compensation
for the classification of Internal Auditor, reporting
to the City Council. Motion passed.
The
Mayor’s recommendation for reappointment to the
Human Relations Commission: Duane Chapman, term expiring
March 30, 2007. Motion passed.
Voted against:
Directing
the City Attorney to prepare a resolution establishing four standing committees
to include four members with provisions for individual
committee selection of the chair and vice chair at committee discretion.
Councilmember McLaughlin stated that she felt the Mayor’s
appointment of three members to each committee was sufficient.
Motion passed.
Re-introduced:
A
resolution authorizing a request be made to the California Environmental
Protection Agency (CalEPA) that the Department of Toxic
Substances Control (DTSC) be assigned total jurisdiction of the Zeneca/Simeon-Cherokee
and UC Field Station sites. Councilmember McLaughlin thanked
everyone involved in the development of the resolution. Thirty-three speakers
signed up to speak in support of the matter, but did not, based on the
Council’s support of the item. This resolution, initiated
by Councilmember McLaughlin, received a unanimous vote of the council.
Motion passed.
