in favor of:
Amendment
to a contract with Marcia Brown- Scurry to provide general legal assistant
services in the City Attorney’s Office in the amount of $7,200 for
a total amount not to exceed $24,399.99. Motion passed
Amendment
to a contract with MA/COM to provide maintenance services for one year
for the Consolidated 800 MHz Public Safety Radio System. Total amount
of the contract amendment is $562,551.25. Motion passed
Resolution
opposing HR 4437 and supporting a fair, just, and humane immigration legislation
that recognizes all immigrants. Councilmember McLaughlin gave an overview
of the matter. Motion passed
In
the matter of a proposed ordinance regarding the updated Local
Employment Ordinance, Chapter 2.56 of the Municipal Code of the
City of Richmond. Mayor Anderson stated that the matter would be held
over for two weeks. The motion to overturn the Mayor’s decision
to hold this matter over for two weeks failed. Motion failed
Placing
a moratorium on new sewer hookups in portions of Richmond served by Richmond
Sewer District No. 1. Motion failed
Approve
the City of Richmond co-sponsoring with the City of San Pablo and Opportunity
West, a Cinco de Mayo Celebration on May 7, 2006, and approve using the
City of Richmond’s portable stage, at no cost, and allocating up
to $15,000 to coordinate the event with responsibility of financial oversight
of the funds by the City Manager. Motion passed
In
the matter of a proposed ordinance regarding the Updated Business
Opportunity Ordinance, Chapter 2.50 of the Municipal Code of
the City of Richmond. Mayor Anderson held the matter over for two weeks.
